Another Good Book

I picked up Vince Antonucci’s book I Became a Christian and all I got was this Lousy T-shirt and started reading. I had no idea what to expect but was surprised by what I read. I am only currently 50 pages in but I have been challenged by what I have read to this point.

He hits on somethings that I have thought but also on some things that I have not thought. He has hit on the idea that Christians believe that being a Christian is about the two B’s – Believe and Behave. I have found this to be true in my own life. He has also hit on the idea of that a relationship with Jesus is not what Jesus wanted. You will have to read to get a good feel of what he is talking about.

This morning while reading and drinking some coffee, I was laughing out loud and then a few minutes later weeping.

I will keep you updated on my thoughts on the book and if you are reading this please let me know what you are thinking.

Did you ever not like a parable of Jesus?

I was reading Matthew 20:1-16 today and I really did not like it. I must stay I have read it many times in the past and I did not like it then. It is not that I do not understand the parable or not get it in some way, but I think that the message is unfair. I understand that God is generous and that I am stingy but I see the workers point who have worked all day and get the same amount as the one who worked an hour.

Do you ever read something that you do not like in the Bible?

I love the fact that I am forced to wrestle with this, which I am and I will continue to do.

Any thoughts?

Life keeps on Rolling!

I bought a house this week. My wife and I have been married nearly 16 years and we have rented the entire time. Now we have bought a house and we are overly excited. Now in the process of trying to move to the new home, our 5 year old has been sick, went to the Dr. and has tested positive for both the flu and strep. So we are trying to deal with this and not get sick ourselves (truth be told – I think I am a on the way to the flu – not feeling too well currently). In this though we see the hand of God move. He worked out some pretty impossible things with buying the house and now he hopefully will continue the process through the move.

The one thing is that through all that happens God is there and Life keeps on Rolling
