  1. cool list. i should look some of those up – the names sound intriguing, like Messy Christianity and Pop Goes the Church :-)

i am an avid reader too :)

  2. I need to reread Messy Spirituality – It is a great read. Thanks for checking out the books. I read heavily in some spurts and slowly in others. I am in a slow spurt now.

  3. whoops, just realized that i called “Messy Spirituality” “Messy Christianity”… but i guess both of those can be quite messy :-D

for this Lent, i tried to give up reading fiction books. The only two books i am currently reading is the Bible and Philip Yancey’s Prayer. SOOOO long to read a few Ted Dekker’s and Dean Koontz’ books that i got in store… as well as a couple of Grisham ones that i bought but didn’t read yet.

i usually have a problem with reading – i am addicted to it and therefore most of the time i am reading 3 or 4 books at the same time (Bible doesn’t count)… and since i read everywhere, that was the reason i decided to slow down a bit and immerse myself into thinking about real life instead of living someone else’s.

    • I found the book to be challenging in a good way. It pushed to me to think differently about missions and money and the church. It has been a while since I have read it and there are times where in thinking about things or where I am asked a question – some of the thoughts and questions Platt asks come to my mind. This is always a sign of a good book to me – it keeps me thinking and wondering long after reading it.

I actually enjoyed Radical Together a bit more because it hit on things in a bit more of a practical way. I did it as a discussion group with the deacons of the Church and again it’s challenges and different perspective caused us to have some excellent discussions on the direction that we are heading.

      Thanks for asking!
